Agnes, famously known as Mama Nanaga is an avid cook who loves discovering

new tastes and making up her own recipes in the kitchen. Through her love for

cooking and creating unique recipes, Agnes always kept a small garden in her

back yard so she could always have her own supply of fresh vegetables, spices

and even poultry.

Agnes realized there was a need to devise smart ways of preserving food that

was always in excess even for her a small-scale farmer. She acquired professional

skills in food processing and packaging and went on to establish Nanaga

Food Products, a food processing outfit that aims at preserving food whilst

maintaining the foods’ original taste and nutritious value.

A wife and mother of two, Agnes has personally created exquisite and unique

recipes for all Nanaga Products by sampling, tasting and selecting the best

ingredients used in Nanaga Food Products. She tirelessly tries new methods,

new ingredients and new mixtures ensuring that her customers and consumers

experience the best tasting foods with Nanaga Products.

Agnes is a keen believer of women empowerment. An active member of the

YWCA of Tanzania, Agnes has devised and participated in many programs

designed to empower women. Agnes mentors and teaches her skills to young

women in her society. She offers two-week internships annually at Nanaga Food

Products where she trains beneficiaries for free. She has also started a class on

Food Processing that she teaches at the YWCA Dar Es Salaam branch, the course

is offered to young ladies in and around Dar who wish to acquire skills that will

enable them to employ themselves.

Agnes holds an Advanced Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Business

Management from the University of Dar Es Salaam and has a number of

certificates on Food Security, Food Processing and Packaging courses.

Agnes is also a mentee of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women Mentoring

program.
